Transformed hybrid working has changed payroll forever

Oct 28, 2021

Transformed hybrid working has changed payroll forever.

The way we work has changed significantly since the start of the Virus and these changes can be viewed across almost every business discipline. Payroll has evolved and has embraced new working conditions, during the crisis.

Keeping ahead with the ever-changing furlough scheme along with other wage support measures put in place by the UK government took centre stage for payroll processes. Workloads became difficult, as a result and our everyday life was profoundly affected by the Virus.

One of the biggest changes we have seen in the workplace is the move to remote working. Since the pandemic, remote working has been a standard and employees now have a legal right to request to work remotely for at least part of the time. Employers can only refuse a request if they have a good business reason for doing so. Now that employees are allowed to return to their workplaces, many have begun hybrid working arrangements.

As hybrid working gives flexibility, this arrangement has become very popular post pandemic. Taking stock of the changes that hybrid working has brought to how we do business and preparing for the future can help improve the efficiency and profitability of your business in the future.
